Litwin Awarded US$60 Million Power Plant EPC Contract

Litwin SA has been awarded a contract to supply a 200 MW power station for a subsidiary of Gaz de France, as part of a consortium led by Centrax Gas Turbines. The power will be sold to Reseau  Transport Electrique (“RTE”) which manages and regulates electricity transmission in France.

The consortium will be responsible for all aspects of the power station construction, including full Engineering, Procurement and Construction (“EPC”). The contract is for approximately US$140 million, of which Litwin’s share is US$60 million.

The new power station will use Rolls-Royce gas turbines and aims to stabilise the Brittany power grid. It is expected to become operational from 2010, allowing Gaz de France to supply the entire region. The plant will be located ten kilometers south of St-Brieuc.

Max Abitbol, Chief Executive Officer of Litwin SA said:
"This contract further establishes our relationship with Gaz de France, for whom we are currently executing a US$300 million EPC contract for the construction of five gas compressor stations. Electricity demand in France is expected to grow by a 1000MW per year until 2010 and we believe we are building a sustainable position to benefit from this."
