Litwin to Lead a Consortium Executing One of the Largest Phosphoric Acid Plants in the World for Ma'aden, Saudi Arabia

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 19th July, 2006

Litwin Europe Middle East B.V. announced today that it has signed a contract to deliver a 1.5 million tons per annum Fertilizer Grade Phosphoric Acid Plant for Ma'aden, a state-owned mining company, in Saudi Arabia. Phosphoric Acid is a key raw material used in fertilizer production, as well as in the food, detergents and other industries. Litwin will lead a consortium executing the project.

The total value of this contract will be above US$330 million, of which Litwin will receive above US$260 million. The contract will be run on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) basis and executed in two phases. The first phase focuses on the basic design and finalization of the cost estimation. The second phase, following successful completion of the first, will be the actual construction process, carried out on an EPC basis. The estimated time frame for the project is 34 months.

Max Abitbol, President and CEO of Litwin Europe Middle East, commenting on today’s announcement said:
“We are very pleased to lead on a phosphate project of such magnitude. This further illustrates Litwin’s leading position amongst the major players in the industry as well as its vast experience and capabilities in executing mid-size projects.”

Three production lines for Wet Process Phosphoric Acid based on the Yara Hemi-hydrate process technology will be installed. Litwin will use the services of Hi-Tech Solutions (USA), a company with an impressive track record of co-operation with the technology provider on similar projects, for basic engineering, training and commissioning. WEC (China), similarly a highly experienced player in the industry, will undertake the detailed design and procurement of non-essential equipment.
