LITWIN secures two contracts based on its PROABD® distillation technology for a total value of US45$ million.
LITWIN SA is pleased to announce that it has been awarded two contracts, based on its PROABD® processes.
PROABD® distillation technology allows for the separation and distillation of coal tar for downstream chemical applications.
The contracts have been awarded by Angang Steel Company Limited, the second largest Chinese steel producer in the Liaoning Province with over 5 million tons per year (“tpy”) coke production capacity, and the Laigang Steel Group Limited, a steel producer in the Shandong Province with over 3 million tpy of coke production capacity. The provision of the license and technical expertise, together with the engineering and procurement of the proprietary process equipment for two 300,000 tpy coal tar distillation plants were key to securing these contract wins.

Also part of PROABD® processes, the Melt Static Crystallization (MSC) technology was first developed and used for the purification of coal tar derivatives such as naphthalene or anthracene. Over the years LITWIN has developed additional applications of MSC to purify fine chemicals, petrochemicals, food as well as pharmaceuticals intermediates.
More than 60 industrial plants based on the modern version of the PROABD® MSC are in operation worldwide.
