Litwin Awarded €220 Million Contract To Construct Five Gas Compressor Station
Litwin is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an EPC contract for the construction of five new natural gas compressor stations by GRTgaz, the French main company in gas transportation for a total value of €220m. Litwin will lead a consortium. The other consortium members are Cegelec and Friedlander.
The reconstruction of the GRTgaz stations is part of a wider programme of compressor station optimisation and network adaptation. The work is expected to commence shortly and will take place between 2007 and 2009. GRTgaz plans a second phase from 2008-2012. The OSCAR program will allow the merger of GRTgaz’ balancing zones reducing them from 4 to 2.
The five natural gas compression stations are:
• Nozay, in Loire-Atlantique, a turbocompressor station • Dierrey, in the Aube, a turbocompressor station • Evry Gregy, in Seine-et-Marne, an electrocompressor station • Auvers, in the Sarthe, an electrocompressor station • Courthezon, in the Vaucluse, an electrocompressor station
Max Abitbol, Chief Executive Officer of Litwin SA said:
"This is a strategically important contract win for Litwin, as we aim to build our partnership with GRTgaz and its shareholder Gaz de France by combining its long experience and expertise in gas treatment with Gaz de France's expected future growth."
Notes to Editors:
About GRTgaz GRTgaz was founded on 1 January 2005 by the Groupe Gaz de France to operate and market the natural gas pipeline system covering approximately 31,500 kilometers, about four-fifths of France.
GRTgaz carries out its activities independently, with a permanent policy of non-discrimination among the different natural gas suppliers. At the time of writing, GRTgaz has 24 shippers as customers and provides more than 700 others with gas (the customers connected to the system are mostly industrial). GRTgaz is a member of GTE, an association comprising all the principal European gas transmission system operators.
